Summary
The EMASOL solar thermal plant is the first in France to use solar trackers on a district heating network. By following the sun’s path throughout the day, it maximizes renewable heat production for the city of Pons. EMASOL supplies heating and domestic hot water to around ten public buildings in the city and guarantees renewable, local, and competitive heat for a maximum number of users.

Newheat's proposal to install solar thermal heat instead of gas was an undeniable advantage both in terms of costs and in terms of decarbonizing our energies
Presentation of the heat consumer client
- Heat network of the town of Pons, the management of which has been entrusted to the company Dalkia as part of a public service delegation
- Network supplying the high school buildings, the student residence, the swimming pool, the gymnasium
Principle of technology integration
- Heating of the return branch of the network at boiler station level
- Fossil fuel displaced: Gas
Key innovation(s)
- Optimization of operation with the existing biomass boiler, in order to achieve a renewable energy rate greater than 90%
- Mutualization of the storage tank to improve the operation of the biomass boiler during the winter period
